The Anti News, Tools and Stories for Living a Slower, More Connected Life

Film Production

I specialize in creating stunning written and visual content to meet your specific film needs.

My expertise in film production relies on my trained photographic eye applied to motion, as well as my understanding of an intriguing, complete story arch from my written storytelling. If you have a film project that needs help, I can make the whole thing, or work with specific aspects of production, storyboarding, interviewing, scene narration, and editing. Below are a few examples of how I've been involved in various films.

MYLO

Very excited to share the most recent documentary film I wrote, Mylo, a project in partnership with Sony. Mylo Fowler grew up on the Navajo reservation, raised by its red dirt and wild horses. But a spiritual elder’s prophecy upends his entire vision of the future, and Mylo enters the unknown to discover his rightful place in the world.

Unnur

Unnur, was selected by the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival, @mountainfilm@5pointfilm, Jersey Shore Film Festival, AARF Amsterdam, and Cold Hawai’i Surf and Film Festival (and many more). It’s a touching, thought-provoking short film about @ellithor and his daughter, Unnur, who are navigating life together on the fringe of Icelandic society. The film investigates the questions: what is a normal life? ... and what is risked (and gained) by living outside the walls of society, especially as a young father?

Arc of Aleutia

In Arc of Aleutia, I was hired to help turn a surf film into not just a surf film… always a fun challenge. We had so many creative people working on this project, and so the management of the team was key. The final product is something I’m really proud of. In Arc of Aleutia you’ll find a tale of exploration without expectations, using surf as a means to see the outer edges of our world – the Aleutian Island chain in Alaska.

North To The Future

The latest film I co-directed and co-wrote with Chris Burkard, North To the Future investigates the tension between being a responsible dad, while having a full-time career which frequently takes Chris to the far reaches of the world. Why even have a job if all it does is takes you away from those you love?

The Long Way Around

What we have here is far from your typical bike trip. Four close friends ventured into the great woods of the Sierra to experience the land via bike. Their original plans were thwarted by the devastation of wildfires that seem to strike the west harder and harder each year. With some last-minute rearranging of the route and a nod that it was safe, the ride was on! They took off to experience a ride and hike that some might call downright insanity. Point Your Compass North

In this lighthearted surf film for Billabong, we explored what it means to travel in 2020, a year defined more by lock down than exploration. None of the athletes in this film had ever been to Alaska, so we decided on a telephone interview backbone for the film, ideally capturing the athletes trepidations coming into the trip, as well as the pure feeling of moving through this one-of-a-kind landscape. Alex Honnold: At Home Off the Wall

This film was directed and produced by my good friends at Lucky Treehouse. I represented the client's (Stride Health) goals and marketing initiatives, while make sure the film fit inline with Alex's brand. Miir: Climb for Clean Water

My friends at MiiR were climbing Mount Rainier to raise money for building wells in Africa. They hired me to make this film about our summit of Mount Rainier and the impact it had on their well projects. I made the whole film front-to-back on this one – wrote, produced, directed, shot, audio, music, and editing. This film represents the breadth of my outdoor and creative skill set, not only to be climbing in extreme conditions, but produce something creatively meaningful in the process.
