Unnur, the film
I’m thrilled to announce that a new film I wrote, Unnur, was selected by the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival, @mountainfilm, @5pointfilm, Jersey Shore Film Festival, AARF Amsterdam, and Cold Hawai’i Surf and Film Festival (and many more).
It’s a touching, thought-provoking short film about @ellithor and his daughter, Unnur, who are navigating life together on the fringe of Icelandic society. The film investigates the questions: what is a normal life? ... and what is risked (and gained) by living outside the walls of society, especially as a young father? What I love so much about this story is Elli’s unflinching exploration of the life he loves, as an arctic surf photographer, despite his own fears and the judgements of others, including his own family. Unnur was going to debut on 4/16 at Tribeca, but COVID-19 had its say about that. It debuted @mountainfilm festival online, and is now available to the public.
